Testimonial for Damascus
Testimonial for Damascus

By any standard, the Apostle Paul lived an incredibly eventful life. He was transformed from a violent, pugilistic individual, in which he was prepared to kill for his religious beliefs, into a man of love, ever ready to die for his Saviour, Christ Jesus. He survived assassination attempts, being shipwrecked, various stonings at the hands of mobs, and corporal punishment meted out by the Roman Imperium. He was the central driving force in the establishment of Christian communities around the shores of the Mediterranean, and penned some of the most vital Christian documents in the history of the Church. Yet, rarely has this remarkable life be considered worthy of the silver screen! Amazing!

I am thankful that this recent movie Damascus seeks to convey something of the richness of his life and experience, and above all his love for the Lord Jesus. I commend it to those wanting to know one of the most important figures in the history of Christianity, and indeed, in the history of the world.

Anonymous XEE Testimonial
I believe XEE could serve as a really helpful tool for people seeking to share Jesus today.  We know that in North America we live in a mission field, and we know that we need to engage those around us with the gospel.  But in our culture, we often struggle with how to bring up the subject in the first place, and then how to actually make it intelligible for those who didn't grow up in the church.  I've personally wrestled with this and I hear people talk about this problem all the time.
So, there's two areas of difficulty that hold many people back: knowing how to introduce the subject and knowing how to explain things.  XEE deals carefully and clearly with both these areas.  For example, I was impressed by the effort made to clearly explain things like 'offending God' to people in our culture.  I was also impressed by the number of different stories and questions that can be used as entry points into sharing.  Having just one idea about how to bring up spiritual things is always good.  Having many different ideas is even better, and can lead to many opportunities.  And that's what the XEE material is great for.  The course does provides a full 'A to Z' overview of how to teach or share the basics of faith.  At the same time, it is also flexible enough to provide a few practical ideas as needed to get things rolling.  In my opinion, this might be the most valuable aspect of the course.  I really hope XEE will help people get over these hurdles and prod them to start talking about Jesus with the people they encounter.  And once this happens, who knows what will come next!

Dr. Robert Newton on XEE
Dear friends,

I am often asked if I know of any good contemporary materials or tools that prepare Christians to share the Gospel with nonChristians. One such tool that I really appreciate is called XEE.  It is a DVD driven training program in relational evangelism aimed at youth and young adults.  Built on Dr. James Kennedyís classic Evangelism Explosion, XEE brings together a number of elements that are key for equipping Christian witnesses in and for this post-church age in which we live.

First, XEE is highly relational. It recognizes that most nonChristians have little or no connection with a Christian church, nor do they feel the need to make one.  So conversations about God will most often take place in the ordinary courses of life between people who share a personal relationship.  Furthermore, those conversations will naturally relate to the life experience of the nonChristianóhis concerns, her questions.  God intends to meet them in their world.

Secondly, XEE provides a solid Biblical frame around which to build a personal Christian witness.  The basics are thereóa God who longs to be reconnected with all of His children, the problem of sin, the reconciling work of Jesus, and the gift of faith.  With these foundational truths in hand a Christian is able to respond effectively to the assumptions, questions or concerns that a nonChristian might have about God and life.

Finally, XEE prepares us to be witnesses in a post-churched world by doing it.  It makes our everyday world the experiential classroom in which we learn to share our faith.  And following the experiential model of learning the XEE process begins with the most basic steps in Christian witness (like developing relationships with nonChristians and intercessory prayer) and builds steadily to the place where personal witness becomes a normal and natural part of our daily life.  The DVD format of each equipping session is ideal for peer training in a small group setting.  That means that we donít need to be experts in order to witness or to teach others how to do the same.

Many of us ìover fiftiesî first learned to share our faith through Dr. Kennedyís Evangelism Explosion. These were effective tools for our generation, equipping us to speak the Gospel to a world greatly influenced by the church. Today, a new and very different world has emerged, one that is not influenced by the church, at least not positively.  A new generation of believers has grown up in this world with the need to be prepared to offer a defense for the hope that lies within us.  I am most grateful that XEE has come for such a time as this.

Dr. Robert Newton

Testimonial for The Story of Jesus for Children DVD - Kaitlyn Age 6

"I like how the Jesus movie reminds me that Jesus died and it took away my sin. I want to give it to my friends for their birthdays to remind them too. I love Jesus and I want them to love Him too! My favourite part of the movie is when the children find out that Jesus isn't in the grave anymore. I'm happy that He rose and I love Him!"
